BAND CAMP FAQsQ: Do I need to register?A: Registration is not necessary, just show up! If your student is not signed up for a Band or Color Guard class in their schedule, please email the band directors Mr. Orindgreff (torindgreff@spusd.net) & Dr. Simonsen (wsimonsen@spusd.net) to let them know you’re attending. Q: Does Band Camp cost money?A: Band Camp is part of the Instrumental Music Program and is free to students joining the Marching Band and Color Guard. The fees to run the camp (for lunch, equipment, etc.) are partially covered by a one-time Instrumental Music Program Fee we will ask families to contribute a little later in the year. No student is turned away from the program because of an inability to pay this fee, so please do not consider this a factor in whether your student will want to participate. Q: I don’t have an instrument yet. Can I participate?A: Yes, please email the band directors Mr. Orindgreff (torindgreff@spusd.net) & Dr. Simonsen (wsimonsen@spusd.net) as soon as possible to make arrangements about your instrument. Q: What should I bring?A: Your student will need their instrument, a one-gallon water jug filled with water, hat, sunscreen, and, binder, sheet protectors, pencil. Sturdy shoes with flexible soles appropriate for marching are recommended (e.g. not flip-flips, boots, etc.),  Please see the bottom of this email for a complete shopping list.   Q: Will lunch be served? What if I have food allergies/restrictions?A: Lunch is provided daily during both weeks, served by parent volunteers. We always try to provide a vegetarian option. If you have special food needs beyond this, please email sphsmusicboosters@gmail.com, and we’ll figure out what options we can provide.
